When the creators of digital solutions put the users' needs aside in order to maximize their own profit, it happens that the dirty tricks are used. In these waters you have to navigate with a steady hand to end up where you want, with what you want. As a designer, it is useful to know the principles behind dark patterns because it also contributes to an understanding of how safe waters should look like.

About the speaker

Jonas is a UX designer at Variant. He has worked with digital channels for almost two decades. In recent years, he has focused on optimizing customer journeys within both online shopping and telecom. In this work, he finds himself at the intersection between the users' and the company's needs. He is an ambassador for a user-centred approach, and believes this is where the gain always lies in the long run.
